Prepare to watch lengthy adverts if you browse YouTube on your Smart TV. Google has decided to make many adjustments to its YouTube New Ad Policy. The platform is poised to begin displaying lengthier advertising alongside YouTube videos on smart TVs. A 30-second ad will also appear in the midst of the YouTube video. The user would not even have the opportunity to skip this commercial, which is unique. The new advertising policy will begin in America.
Google has not stated when or if this will be implemented in other markets. It is expected that if this trial is successful in terms of business there, Google would roll it out in other markets, including India. On a single video, YouTube currently shows 2 to 15-second commercials with a skip button. The advertisement, however, will be different, according to the video.
Google announced YouTube's new ad policy in a blog post. According to the post, Google will also apply the "pause ad" concept in YouTube videos on smart TVs. When a video is paused in this feature, the advertisement appears and remains displayed until the video is resumed. When the advertising appears, the size of the paused movie on the screen shrinks.
YouTube Premium Only Support: Currently the only way to skip the long commercials on YouTube TV is by getting a YouTube Premium subscription to watch it as well. The price of YouTube Premium subscription is Rs 129 per month in India. Premium users can watch ad free content. With the premium subscription, the user is also getting many other benefits, including the facility to watch YouTube music and videos in pip mode.
